Job summary

Hay River Health Authority seeks a Foster Care & Adoptions Social Worker to lead the Foster Care and Adoption programs across Hay River, Enterprise and Katlodeeche First Nation. You will coordinate Child Protection, Social Services and Placement Services to guide families and children toward healthy outcomes.

The role requires specialized behavioral sciences knowledge, strong communication, and cultural sensitivity to northern communities.

Qualifications

• Specialized professional knowledge in the behavioral sciences.
• Ability to build positive relationships with people and agencies.
• Strong interpersonal communication, teamwork and leadership skills.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, facilitation and presentation abilities.
• Must be computer literate: Outlook, Word, Excel and SharePoint.
• Knowledge of relevant social service acts and standards.
• Cultural sensitivity to northern communities and practices.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Foster Care and Adoption programs for Hay River and nearby communities.
• Coordinate child protection, social services and placement services.
• Provide community-based social services and support healing processes.
• Respond to emergencies and maintain interagency collaboration.
