Job summary

PwC Canada is seeking a Senior Associate – Cyber Security Forward Deployed Engineer to lead and deliver advanced cloud and application security solutions for clients. You will design production-ready security controls, integrate DevSecOps practices, and mentor junior engineers while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a client-facing role.

Qualifications

• 3–6+ years of hands-on software development, security engineering, DevSecOps, or cloud security.
• Solid hands-on with at least one major cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP) — IAM, networking, KMS, native security services, and IaC (Terraform).
• Depth areas: Cloud (Kubernetes, Helm, container security, CSPM/CNAPP) or AppSec (Secure SDLC, SAST/DAST/SCA, API security).
• Familiarity with security platforms (Defender, Chronicle, CrowdStrike, Splunk, Sentinel) and core cloud security concepts.
• Proficiency in scripting/programming languages (Python, Java, etc.).
• Experience in consulting environments and knowledge of security standards (NIST CSF, ISO 27001) is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement security solutions across cloud and applications (SDLC integrations, AppSec pipelines).
• Configure security controls and baselines; perform cloud and Kubernetes architecture reviews.
• Build production-grade CI/CD pipelines and IaC modules.
• Deliver security strategy engagements and transformation guidance for clients.
• Mentor associates and contribute to knowledge sharing; provide clear client communication.
• Support pre-sales: POCs, demos, and solution architecture artifacts.
