Job summary

JPS Construction Group is seeking experienced Concrete Carpenters to support commercial and industrial formwork projects in the Edmonton area. This year-round role involves building accurate formwork and ensuring pours run efficiently on-site.

Qualified candidates will have strong concrete formwork or industrial carpentry experience, the ability to read drawings, and a safety-focused, team-driven attitude. Travel to job sites and reliable transportation are required.

Qualifications

• Concrete forming experience; 3 years preferred.
• Ability to read drawings and work from layouts accurately.
• English language required.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Build, set, adjust, and strip concrete forms.
• Work with formwork systems such as Peri, Doka, gang forms, and curb/gutter forms.
• Install and secure sono tubes.
• Read and interpret drawings and layouts for formwork.
• Measure, mark, and verify dimensions and elevations.
• Assist with job preparation and concrete pours as needed.
• Provide day-to-day direction to labourers and placers on site.
• Coordinate with placers, finishers, and foremen on site.

Job Title: Concrete Carpenter

Wage: $34 - $40 per hour based on experience.

Job Description:

JPS Construction Group is looking for experienced Carpenters to support our commercial and industrial concrete projects. This position is year-round, with multiple winter projects in and out of the Edmonton area.

This role focuses on building accurate, reliable formwork while working closely with the crew to ensure jobs are properly prepared and pours run efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build, set, adjust, and strip concrete forms
• Work with a variety of formwork systems, including Peri, Doka, snap ties, gang forms, and curb and gutter systems
• Install and secure sono tubes
• Read and work from drawings and layouts related to formwork
• Measure, mark, and verify dimensions and elevations
• Assist with job preparation and pours as needed
• Provide day-to-day task direction to labourers and placers when they are assigned to assist with formwork
• Coordinate with placers, finishers, and foremen on site

• Experience using multiple formwork system types, gang form, snap ties, etc.
• Ability to read drawings and work accurately from layouts

• Willingness to travel out of town for projects when required
• Ability to pass site-required drug and alcohol testing

Formwork Carpenters at JPS are hands-on, flexible, and expected to contribute beyond formwork when needed to keep projects moving.
