Location & Work Arrangement
  • Permanent, full‑time position
  • Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (8 hours/day, 40 hours/week)
  • Reports to Director of Research and Development
Position Summary

The Formulation Chemist works independently and is responsible for developing new plant and crop protection products, as well as improving existing formulations used by growers and farmers. This role involves determining optimal ingredient combinations, formulation processes, and conducting testing to ensure products meet quality, performance, and regulatory standards prior to commercialization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare formulations at laboratory, pilot, and production scales to support internal testing and external evaluations
  • Conduct physicochemical characterization, quantitative chemical analyses, packaging, and application testing in accordance with defined standards
  • Generate data to support product chemistry requirements and regulatory submissions globally
  • Analyze and interpret experimental data, and clearly communicate findings and conclusions both verbally and in written reports
  • Ensure accurate documentation, data archiving, and knowledge transfer to support future product development and marketing activities
  • Maintain a safe and compliant working environment, adhering to all health and safety requirements
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and resources, ensuring proper care, calibration, documentation, and compliance with internal procedures
  • Protect and maintain confidentiality of all intellectual property and proprietary information
  • Develop, test, and optimize formulations to meet customer and market needs, resolving issues related to mixing, stability, and consistency
  • Troubleshoot formulation challenges and identify practical, science‑based solutions
  • Stay current with industry trends, scientific literature, and emerging technologies related to formulation chemistry and crop inputs
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, presenting research findings and explaining formulation benefits and safety considerations
  • Demonstrate flexibility, resourcefulness, and accountability in meeting project timelines and performance targets
  • Pursue continuous personal and professional development through training and self‑directed learning
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands‑on experience in a formulation chemist or similar role
  • Experience with formulation development testing, laboratory procedures, and best practices
  • Strong experimental, analytical, and problem‑solving skills
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and computer skills
  • Ability to work independently with a high level of self‑motivation
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt in a fast‑paced, research‑driven environment
