Job summary

Combined Metal Industries Inc. is seeking a skilled Forklift Technician to join our Maintenance Team. You will inspect, diagnose, repair and maintain forklift trucks and other mobile equipment across CMI locations.

Required is a high school diploma or equivalent with 1–2 years of related experience. Asset certifications like 421A and forklift training are a plus. Excellent mechanical aptitude and ability to lift 50 lbs are needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 1–2 years of forklift or heavy equipment repair experience preferred.
• 421A certificate is an asset; forklift mechanic training is an asset.
• Experience repairing forklifts, loaders, skid steers or similar mobile equipment is an asset.
• Ability to read repair manuals and use diagnostic tools.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain forklift trucks and mobile equipment across CMI premises.
• Perform preventative maintenance and respond to breakdowns.
• Inspect and test equipment to ensure repairs are correct and safe to operate.
• Install, remove, and repair attachments and accessories (clamps, side shifters, lights, audible devices).
• Troubleshoot and repair batteries and other components as required.

Pay Rate: $40.00- 45.00/hr

The salary range shown above reflects the expected compensation for this position. The final salary offered will be determined based on a holistic assessment of the candidate’s experience, education, training, and alignment with the role’s requirements.

Job Summary

CMI is looking for a skilled Forklift Technician to join our Maintenance Team. In this role, you will inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain various types of forklift trucks and other mobile equipment across CMI premises.

Key Responsibilities:

• Repair and maintain various types of forklift trucks and mobile equipment
• Perform preventative maintenance and respond to equipment breakdowns

• Inspect and test equipment to ensure repairs have been completed correctly and the equipment is safe to operate
• Install, remove, and repair attachments and accessories, including clamps, side shifters, push-pulls, lights, and audible devices
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair batteries and more as required

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• One to two years of experience as a Forklift Technician, Heavy Equipment Technician, Automotive Mechanic, or in a similar mechanical role
• 421A Heavy Duty Equipment Technician Certificate of Qualification is considered an asset.
• Completion of a forklift truck mechanic training course is considered an asset
• Experience repairing forklifts, loaders, skid steers, excavators, or other mobile equipment is considered an asset
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and testing instruments
• Ability to read repair manuals for various types of forklift trucks
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time
