Job summary

Alta Material Handling (ALTG) is seeking a full-time Forklift Shop Service Technician in Woodbridge, ON. You will perform preventative maintenance and diagnose/repair forklifts and other material handling equipment, with a focus on safety and customer service.

Qualifications

• Two years of forklift repair experience preferred.
• Canadian work experience is not required for this role.
• Strong working knowledge of electric and liquid propane units.
• Excellent mechanical aptitude.
• Possess own tools.
• Familiarity with Hyster TKC training software and Yale/Hyster contact management system.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures; write routine reports and correspondence.
• Basic math skills for simple calculations.
• Reasoning ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions and solve problems.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on customer forklifts and other material handling equipment.
• Diagnose and repair all forms of customer equipment.
• Complete each repair job in a timely, efficient and professional manner.
• Provide exceptional customer service.
• Work and manage workloads independently.
• Properly complete and submit all required paperwork.
• Incorporate Alta's Guiding Principles into daily activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Maintain consistent, regular attendance.
