Gypsum Management & Supply, Inc. (GMS) is seeking a highly motivated Forklift Operator - Order Builder for our afternoon shift.

The role involves loading and unloading building materials, and building orders for delivery, with a 1pm–9:30pm schedule and a wage range of $22.50–$30 per hour, plus a shift premium. You will perform lift truck inspections, ensure safety and accuracy, and work with a team to meet customer demands while maintaining contact with supervisors.

Qualifications

• Forklift certification (propane) required.
• Minimum of two years experience.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic mathematics.
• Basic hand tool skills.

Responsibilities

• Inspect lift trucks daily and complete required forms.
• Maintain lift truck servicing and maintenance.
• Build orders to specifications for delivery.
• Load and unload building materials safely and efficiently.
• Verify load contents for accuracy and secure materials.
• Ensure timely shipping per management instructions.
• Maintain communication with supervisors and resolve issues.

Position Summary

We are currently looking for a highly motivated and customer-focused individual for the position of Forklift Operator - Order Builder for our afternoon shift. The Forklift Operator prepares loads and unloads building materials in the warehouse through the safe operation of a lift truck. Together with other team members, the Forklift Operator works to exceed customer expectations. The shifts are Monday - Friday 1pm - 9:30pm and the wage range is $22.50 - $30 per hour (Tier 1; $22.50 - $26, Tier 2; $26 - $30), plus a shift premium.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily inspections of lift trucks and complete required forms.
• Ensure lift truck maintenance and servicing requirements are met.
• Build orders to required specifications for delivery.
• Load and unload building materials in a safe and efficient manner.
• Check load contents for accuracy and secure materials.
• Ensure that all products are shipped on schedule and according to specific instructions by management to meet customer demands.
• Maintain contact with supervisors and work to resolve issues as they arise.
• Act as an ambassador of the company with all employees and customers.
• Follow all regulations, company policies, and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Basic Qualifications

• Valid forklift certification (propane).
• Minimum of two years experience.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic mathematics.
• Basic hand tool skills.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs.
• Sitting and driving for longs periods of time.
• Frequently climbing up and down stairs.
• Pulling, pushing, bending and torso twisting movements with weight.
