Job summary

Silent-Aire, a division of Johnson Controls, is seeking a Forklift Operator to move materials in a warehouse environment and support loading, unloading, and inventory accuracy. You will operate forklifts, weigh materials, and assist with yard and facility upkeep while following safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience working as a forklift operator in a warehouse/shipping environment with a valid forklift operator license.
• Knowledge of workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures.
• Ability to work independently.
• Able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
• Knowledge of safe lifting and handling techniques.
• Must be able to carry and move equipment and/or supplies in excess of 40 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Operate lifting devices, i.e. forklifts, hoists, elevating platforms, lift beams and swivel hooks.
• Confirm inventory transactions are complete.
• Manually load and unload materials from pallets, skids, platforms, cars, and lifting devices.
• Put away received materials to proper storage locations.
• Ability to readily determine the correct tools and equipment needed to do a job.
• Accurately ship and receive product.
• May perform other activities such as assisting in taking inventory and weighing/checking materials.
• Support inventory control with accurate documentation.
• Perform routine maintenance on vehicles and auxiliary equipment.
• Accurately weigh and document materials.
• Participate in clean-up of yard and facility.
• Perform all duties in accordance with Silent-Aire Limited Partnership safety program standards and Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulations and Code.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Overview

The Forklift Operator is responsible for utilizing a forklift to move materials around a storage yard, factory, or similar location.
