Job summary

Colonial Group is seeking a Material Handler to support warehouse operations in Mississauga. The role emphasizes accurate order fulfillment, efficient receiving, picking and shipping, and strict adherence to RF processes.

You will perform inventory control tasks, operate material handling equipment, and follow SOPs to ensure quality and timely customer orders. A safety-focused, detail-oriented team member is preferred.

Qualifications

• One year of warehouse experience with safe operation of equipment.
• Experience with RF-based Warehouse Management System, preferably Red Prairie.

Responsibilities

• Meet customer agreements focusing on productivity, accuracy, and service level.
• Handle products for receiving, picking, shipping and inventory control.
• Use material handling equipment and RF technology.
• Follow SOPs to ensure quality and consistency.
• Complete tasks as shown on RF, scan to avoid manual entry.
• Participate in physical counts and cycle counts.
• Move empty pallets to pallet holding area.
• Keep warehouse clean and safe per Health & Safety policies.
• Operate equipment safely and follow company guidelines.

SHIFTS

Afternoon: 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM

Evening: 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM

Hourly premium for afternoon and evening shift

SUMMARY

Reporting to the Operations Supervisor the Material Handler is responsible for a variety of warehouse tasks using an RF and various material handling equipment. Follows best practice processes to ensure we are efficient, accurate, and provide quality and on-time orders for our customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• The material handler plays an important role in meeting customer agreements which include productivity, accuracy, and service level.
• Responsible for the handling of product for various operational processes, including receiving, order picking, shipping, and inventory control.
• This role requires the use of material handling equipment and RF technology.
• Follows Standard Operating Procedures to ensure quality and consistency is achieved.
• Completes material handling tasks as presented on the RF, scanning where possible to avoid manual keying.
• Participates in inventory activities including physical inventory counts and cycle counts.
• Moves empty pallets, depositing them at the designated pallet holding location.
• Keeps the warehouse clean, orderly, and free from obstructions, with all debris placed in proper containers or designated areas.
• Operates equipment and completes tasks in a manner consistent with company Health & Safety policies.

EXPERIENCE

• One (1) year warehouse experience, with one year’s operating material handling equipment (MHE) with a proven track record for safety.
• Previous experience with RF based Warehouse Management System (WMS), preferably Red Prairie.

SKILLS

• Knowledge of warehouse processes, including receiving, order picking, shipping, and inventory control.
• Organized and strong attention to detail.
• Able to adapt to change and easily adopt new processes required to meet changing business needs.
• Able to work in a structured environment and follow instructions.
• Knowledge of WMS RF Scanner.
• Experience with Red Prairie WMS an asset.

EDUCATION

• Some high school, completion of secondary school diploma preferred.

CERTIFICATIONS

• One or a combination of the following equipment experience and certification - Double-end Walkie.

WORKING CONDITIONS.

• Able to commit to a flexible work schedule, includingovertime and weekends when required.
• Works 100% of their time on the warehouse floor,walking, standing, and bending.
• Capable of lifting up to 50lbs repeatedly and safely.
• Recognize that work hours and location may change.
