Gypsum Management & Supply, Inc. (GMS) on Vancouver Island is seeking a Forklift Operator to prepare and move building materials in the warehouse safely.

You will work with the team to exceed customer expectations and ensure timely shipments. The role requires a valid propane forklift certification and at least two years of experience, with good communication, basic math skills, and ability to use hand tools.

Qualifications

• Valid forklift certification (propane).
• Minimum of two years' experience.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic mathematics.
• Basic hand tool skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate lift truck safely and load/unload materials.
• Perform daily inspections of lift trucks and complete required forms.
• Build orders to required specifications for delivery.
• Load and unload building materials in a safe and efficient manner.
• Check load contents for accuracy and secure materials.
• Ensure that all products are shipped on schedule and according to management instructions.
• Maintain contact with supervisors and work to resolve issues as they arise.
• Act as an ambassador of the company with all employees and customers.
• Follow all regulations, company policies, and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

We are currently looking for a highly motivated and customer-focused individual for the position of Forklift Operator. The Forklift Operator prepares loads and unloads building materials in the warehouse through the safe operation of a lift truck. Together with other team members, the Forklift Operator works to exceed customer expectations. The wage range is $22 - $26.75 per hour (Tier 1; $22 - $24, Tier 2; $24 - $26.75).

Key Responsibilities

• Build orders to required specifications for delivery.

Basic Qualifications

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs.
• Sitting and driving for longs periods of time.
