Job summary

Tigercat Industries is seeking a Forklift Operator/Material Handler to support our manufacturing floor operations in Cambridge, Ontario. You will help move materials, coordinate with departments, and ensure smooth production flow on a dedicated day shift.

Responsibilities include operating forklifts, inspecting equipment, maintaining 5S storage areas, and communicating production needs to managers and supervisors. Training and safety adherence are essential for success.

Qualifications

  • Experience operating material handling equipment such as forklifts, pump carts, and walkies.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.
  • Ability to adapt to changing work environment and priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Safely move raw materials and finished products between departments to maintain production flow.
  • Inspect material handling equipment and report damage.
  • Organize storage areas and maintain 5S in plant.
  • Follow schedules, shipping documents, and drawings.
  • Coordinate with project managers and supervisors on production schedules.
  • Assist with unloading crates and weighing materials as needed.

As aForklift Operator, Material Handler you will work on the manufacturing floor to assist in the production and assembly of equipment. You will be in close communication with various departments within the organization and will help coordinate the efficient flow of materials and finished goods into and out of the production process.

Dedicated Day Shift:

6:00am - 2:30pm, Monday - Friday

Job Duties
  • Safely and efficiently move raw materials and finished products between departments, maintaining the flow of production
  • Perform daily inspections of material handling equipment (Forklift, Walkie), and report any minor or major damage to the equipment
  • Organize and maintain 5S in storage areas within the plant and outside
  • Follow written directions; interpret schedules, shipping documents and drawings
  • Communicate with project managers and supervisors to understand production schedules
  • May perform other activities, such as unloading crates, opening containers and crates from outside vendors, and weighing and checking materials
Skills and Experience
  • Adapt to a changing work environment, competing demands, the ability to handle frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively
  • Effective organization, problem-solving, and time-management skills
  • Keen attention to detail, an outstanding work ethic and the ability to multi-task
  • Physical requirements include; driving (80-90%), standing, and climbing
  • Understanding of MRP/ERP systemsisan asset
  • Potential exposure to weather changes (hot, cold, wind, rain, etc.) when working outside
  • Heavy lifting may be required (up to 50lbs)
Qualifications
  • Important skills include communication, problem-solving, and organization
  • Previous experience operating material handling equipment such as forklifts, pump carts, and walkies
  • Prior experience in warehousing or logistics an asset
