Job summary

Big Country Pet Co. in Calgary, Alberta is seeking an experienced Forklift Operator to move finished goods in the warehouse and freezers, handle skids, rotate inventory using FIFO, and prep orders for shipping.

You will work Monday to Friday, 7:45 am to 4:00 pm, with wage progression from 24.50 to 26.00 per hour; benefits include group insurance, a company performance bonus, discounted pet food, and employee events. A valid forklift license and 2–3 years of experience are required.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of forklift + power walkie experience.
• Valid forklift license (in-house license a bonus).
• Warehouse and order-picking experience.
• Comfortable working in cold environments (freezers).
• Able to lift 30–50lbs and work independently with safety focus.

Responsibilities

• Move finished goods around the warehouse and freezers.
• Retrieve and return skids from high racking (25–30 ft).
• Restock and rotate inventory using FIFO.
• Help wrap, weigh, and prepare skids for shipping.
• Keep work area and forklift clean; report issues.
• Follow safety, GMP, and HACCP procedures.
• Work closely with Order Fulfillment Supervisor and team.

We’re looking for an experienced Forklift Operator to help keep our warehouse and freezer areas running smoothly. You’ll move skids, organize inventory, and support the Order Fulfillment team with daily product movement and order prep.

Shift: Monday to Friday, 7:45 am to 4:00 pm.

This role is eligible for a wage progression:
Starting rate is $24.50/hour, $25.25 at 6 months, $26 at 12 months and annual reviews thereafter. This role is also eligible for Group Insurance Benefits, a Company Performance Bonus, Discounted Pet Food, Employee Events, and more.

What You’ll Do

• Move finished goods around the warehouse and freezers
