Job summary

GDI Services (Canada) LP is seeking a Forklift Operator for a food manufacturing environment. The role involves safely moving, loading, unloading, and organizing materials in a high-paced facility to keep operations running smoothly.

Responsibilities include operating a forklift, cleaning and sanitizing production areas, and maintaining floor machines and equipment. The position requires a high school diploma, food industry experience, strong communication, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma.
• Food industry experience and knowledge of cleaning in a food plant environment.
• Strong communications skills, both written and oral.
• Steel Toe Waterproof Boots ($200 covered).
• All other PPE Provided.
• Benefits after 3 months.
• RRSP after 1 year.
• Must be able to pass a Criminal Background Check.

• Cleaning steel waste bins in a high paced environment.
• Safe operation of a forklift.
• Dry mops, wet mops (wash/scrub). The washing/scrubbing of floors is done with manual or power scrubbing equipment.
• Maintains and conducts preventative maintenance procedures on floor machines, vacuums.
• Maintaining cleanliness of area and equipment.
• Exposure to chemical cleaning solutions (with protective gear).
• Perform varying tasks while standing, lifting, crouching, etc. during extended periods of time.
• Follow all Health and Safety guidelines established by spec for this position.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning steel waste bins in a high paced environment.
• Safe operation of a forklift
• Dry mops, wet mops (wash/scrub). The washing/scrubbing of floors is done with manual or power scrubbing equipment.
• Maintains and conducts preventative maintenance procedures on floor machines, vacuums.
• Maintaining cleanliness of area and equipment.
• Mechanical aptitude required
• Capable of lifting up to 50lbs.
• Cleaning and sanitizing food production environment
• Wear employer-specified protective gear, including two pairs of gloves, face/eye shields, aprons, boots, etc.
• Exposure to chemical cleaning solutions (with protective gear)
• Perform varying tasks while standing, lifting, crouching, etc. during extended periods of time.
• Follow all Health and Safety guidelines established by spec for this position.
• Additional duties as assigned.
• Required to work in an environment that is hot, wet & humid.
