Job summary

A leading facility maintenance provider in Toronto is looking for a janitor who can also perform Lead Hand duties. The role involves cleaning floors, bathrooms, and common areas while ensuring trash is disposed of correctly. The ideal candidate must work well in teams, pay attention to detail, and have their own transportation. This is a full-time position requiring availability from 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm, Sunday to Saturday. A Criminal Background Check is required.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, and wash floors, stairs and other surfaces.

General Description: A janitor is generally responsible for the cleaning of all hard floor surfaces and carpets, washrooms, common areas, offices, and the collection and removal of garbage from drop points to a garbage bin. In addition to carrying out the Cleaner duties, GDI is looking for someone who can also perform Lead Hand duties.

Schedule: Full Time, Sunday to Saturday 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, and wash floors, stairs and other surfaces (inside buildings).
• Wash windowsills; glass in interior doors, partition, and specified windows.
• Wash glass and trim at entrance doors, interior/exterior- Wash/spot clean interior walls as appropriate daily.
• Clean bathrooms and restock paper supplies daily. Standard bathroom procedures are to damp wipe glass surfaces, empty waste baskets, service soap and toilet paper dispensers, dust sills, clean tile walls, shelves, stall partitions, sweep/mop/scrub floors, etc.
• Assist the supervisor with any other assistance that requires help from the employee.
• Monitors possible defects such as clogged urinals and lights out, and reports to supervisors.
• Collect building trash daily placing it in approved container and place in designated collection area for subsequent removal.
• Replace liners in waste baskets and trash containers per specs.
• High dusting, wall washing
• Other duties as assigned.
