Job summary

Bidell Gas Compression in Calgary is seeking experienced Forklift Operators to support the fabrication and assembly of natural gas compression equipment. The role involves moving heavy assemblies and materials in a mainly outdoor yard, with day or night shifts listed.

Successful candidates will operate high-capacity forklifts safely and work closely with cross-functional teams. Training and certification in Alberta forklift operations are required, and applicants must be eligible to work in

Qualifications

• Valid forklift certification recognized in Alberta including Rough Terrain Forklift, Class 7.
• Minimum 2 years of forklift operating experience in industrial/ manufacturing environments.
• Experience operating forklifts with capacities up to 36,000 lbs.
• Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs when required.
• Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices in heavy industrial settings.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate forklifts and move large fabricated assemblies and heavy components.
• Transport structural steel, pipe, and production materials across the facility.
• Load, unload, and stage materials to support fabrication and assembly operations.
• Conduct pre-use equipment inspections and report deficiencies.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and participate in safety initiatives.
• Collaborate with fabrication, assembly, logistics, and warehouse teams.

THE OPPORTUNITY

We are currently seeking experiencedForklift Operatorsto join our Calgary manufacturing facility supporting the fabrication and assembly of natural gas compression equipment.

Available shifts:

• Day Shift:6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
• Night Shift: 4:30 PM – 2:30 AM

This is not a typical warehouse forklift position. Our operators are responsible for safely moving large fabricated assemblies, structural steel, pipe, and heavy industrial components using forklifts with capacities up to36,000 lbsin a mainly outdoor yard setting.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Including but are not limited to the following)

• Safely operate forklifts and material handling equipment with capacities up to36,000 lbs.
• Transport structural steel, pipe, fabricated assemblies, and production materials throughout the facility
• Load, unload, and stage materials to support manufacturing and assembly operations
• Conduct pre-use equipment inspections and report deficiencies
• Proven commitment to safe work practices and equipment operation in a heavy industrial environment
• Work closely with fabrication, assembly, logistics, and warehouse personnel
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Participate in continuous improvement and safety initiatives
  • Materials handled may include:
    • Standard pallets and oversized pallets up to 8′ x 16′
    • Structural steel lengths up to 40 feet
    • Pipe lengths up to 40 feet
    • Heavy industrial equipment and fabricated assemblies

QUALIFICATIONS

• Valid forklift certification recognized in Alberta including Rough Terrain Forklift, Class 7
• Minimum 2 years of forklift operating experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or heavy construction environment
• Demonstrated experience operating forklifts with capacities up to36,000 lbs.
• Experience handling oversized, long-length, or irregular loads
• Rigging experience and/or rigging certification considered a strong asset
• Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs when required
• Strong awareness of workplace safety practices
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
• Strong attention to detail and situational awareness
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
• Must reside in Calgary or the surrounding area
• Ability to work overtime and occasional weekends as required

Preference will be given to candidates with experience operating high-capacity forklifts (20,000 lbs.+), handling oversized loads, and working in heavy industrial manufacturing environments.
