Job summary

Spectrum Resource Group, a Wright Canada Holdings unit, is hiring a Forestry Technician Crew Lead for field duties across Canada. The role involves leading a crew, ensuring safety, coordinating daily production and logistics, and training new staff. Camp setup, travel, and staying away from home are required.

The position offers a competitive daily pay rate of $275–$310, full benefits, and an employee-ownership framework. Prior supervision and chainsaw experience are assets for candidates.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of forestry-related experience.
• Post-secondary education in natural resources, forestry or related field is an asset.
• Valid BC Class 5 Driver's License with clean abstract.
• Pre-employment drug testing for safety-sensitive positions.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to travel and stay away from home as needed.
• Experience with chainsaws is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Payroll tracking and production reporting for the crew.
• Ensure a safe and productive work environment; inspect equipment and review safety docs.
• Plan daily/weekly production and logistics for the team and inspect work with plot samples.
• Motivate and guide the crew to perform at their best.
• Collect, review and submit deliverables to supervisor.
• Lead camp setup, maintenance and teardown safely.
• Participate in daily layout tasks (boundaries, roads, riparian).
• Train new staff to perform all duties safely.
• Work in physically strenuous and varied terrain.
• Perform other duties as required.
