Job summary

Horizon Contracting Group seeks a Landscape Maintenance Foreman (Seasonal) to lead a field crew outdoors. The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, safety, and timely completion of maintenance tasks across landscapes.

You will coordinate crews, communicate with clients, and ensure quality workmanship throughout the season. The position runs March/April through October or November, with some year-round availability.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in landscaping or equivalent education
• Experience leading or supervising a crew
• Comfortable with physically demanding outdoor work
• Strong communication, teamwork, and customer service skills
• Experience operating landscape equipment
• Basic mechanical and plant knowledge
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and delegate daily work to keep jobs on track
• Lead, coach, and support your crew's performance and development
• Troubleshoot challenges, manage incidents, and support conflict resolution
• Inspect, maintain, and perform minor repairs on equipment
• Operate a truck and trailer safely and professionally
• Represent Team Horizon with professionalism and excellent customer service
• Champion safety through toolbox talks and proper PPE use
• Complete daily and weekly paperwork including inspections, reports, and timecards

We're a supportive group of professionals who bring energy, skill, and attention to detail to every property.

This seasonal leadership role typically runs from March/April through October or November . We are looking for a leader to finish out our season and we have some availability for year round work before next season.

As a Landscape Maintenance Foreman , you'll lead a dedicated crew while working closely with the Maintenance Field Manager. You'll be hands-on in the field, guiding your team, ensuring quality work, and helping bring divisional goals to life - all while enjoying the outdoors.

Physical Requirements

This is a 100% labour-based role requiring lifting 50+ lbs and repetitive bending, crouching, twisting, and standing or walking for extended periods.

Your office is outdoors - rain or shine. Shifts are 4 x 10-hour days , giving you a 3-day weekend . Dress for the weather and embrace the elements.

This role typically runs spring through October or November with some availability for year round work for the right candidate.
