Job summary

Lakeview Electric Ltd. seeks a General Foreman to lead electrical teams in Wolfville, NS, coordinating installation and repair of electrical systems across multiple projects. The role involves directing electricians, inspecting work, and upholding safety standards on site.

The Foreman will work with project managers and the general contractor to meet deadlines, train apprentices, and document progress and changes on job sites in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, direct, and supervise the work of electricians in the installation and repair of electrical systems.
• Inspect and approve electrical installations to ensure safety and performance standards.
• Conduct safety meetings and ensure all safety protocols are followed.
• Communicate with project managers, engineers, and others to meet specifications and expectations.
• Train and mentor junior electricians, providing guidance on installation practices.
• Provide status and progress reports to management.
• Maintain records of work performed, materials used, and job-related information.
• Ensure change orders are captured on the job.
• Plan, assemble, install, repair, test and maintain electrical fixtures and systems at commercial sites.
• Read blueprints or technical diagrams.
• Install and maintain wiring systems and electrical apparatus.

Foreman responsibilities:

• Monitor, direct, and supervise thework of electricians in the installation and repair ofelectrical systems, on more than one project at a time.
• Inspect and approve allelectrical installations to ensure they meet safety and performancestandards.
• Conduct safety meetings andensure all safety protocols are adhered to.
• Communicate with projectmanagers, engineers, and others to ensure project specifications andexpectations are met.
• Train and mentor juniorelectricians, providing guidance and advice on electrical installationpractices.
• Provide status and progressreports to management.
• Maintain accurate records of workperformed, materials used, and associated work order/T&M information.
• Ensure change orders are capturedon the job.
• Ensure proper care in the use andmaintenance of equipment and supplies.

Foremanresponsibilities

• Manage electrical projects, assessingthe project requirements, material, timelines, and goals.

• Work with the electrical team andgeneral contractor to meet deadlines, assign workload based on level ofexperience.

• Organize and prioritize tasks and toensure required resources are available.

• Communicate progress of projects withthe team and management.

• Ensure all workers receive the propertraining, support job training for apprentices,and facilitate mentoring.

• Know, understand,and participate in safety/incident investigations.

• Review safety/incident investigationsand provide crews with adequate supervision to accomplish tasksin a safe effective manner.

• Plan, assemble, install, repair, testand maintain electrical fixtures and systems that provide heat,light, power or control at commercial sites.

• Read blueprints or technicaldiagrams.

• Installation and maintenance of wiringsystems.

• Installing electrical apparatus,equipment, and fixtures.

• Enforce and maintain cleansite facilities and equipment and comply with all safetystandards.

• Complying strictly with CanadianElectrical Code and local building regulations.

• Other duties as assigned by TheCompany.
