The Prince Albert Grand Council is seeking a dedicated Food Services & Shelter Support Worker for the Montreal Lake Cree Nation Safe Shelter for Women. The role oversees the shelter kitchen, meal planning, food purchasing, inventory, and sanitation, while also supporting housekeeping and resident needs on site.

Applicants should have at least 3 years in relevant fields, Safe Food Handling, and First Aid/CPR, with strong communication and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in food services, hospitality, human services, or a related field.
  • Safe Food Handling Certification.
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certification.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid Saskatchewan Driver's License and insurable driver's abstract.
  • Ability to obtain required security clearances.
  • Knowledge of Indigenous cultures, traditions, and values is an asset
  • Understanding of trauma-informed practice, domestic violence, and crisis intervention principles is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and serve nutritious meals and snacks for residents and their children.
  • Maintain kitchen operations, inventory, food ordering, and food donation management.
  • Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen, pantry, dining areas, and food storage spaces.
  • Assist with maintaining the cleanliness and organization of common areas throughout the shelter.
  • Answer telephones and greet visitors in a professional and welcoming manner.
  • Provide basic support and assistance to residents while maintaining confidentiality and professional boundaries.

The Prince Albert Grand Council is inviting applications for the position of Food Services & Shelter Support Worker for the Montreal Lake Cree Nation Safe Shelter for Women; this position is located on the Montreal Lake Cree Nation.
The Food Services & Shelter Support Worker oversees the daily operation of the shelter kitchen, including meal planning and preparation, food purchasing, inventory, donations, and maintaining clean and sanitary food-service areas.
The position also supports the overall cleanliness, safety, and operation of the shelter by assisting with housekeeping, resident support, and other shelter-related duties as required.
