Schlegel Villages is seeking a part-time Food Service Aide (FSA) for EM LTC, 7:30am - 2:30pm, 26 hours. The Village of Erin Meadows offers competitive pay ($22.88/hour under the collective agreement) and benefits. You will assist with meals, food safety, and resident-centered service in a supportive team environment.

Successful candidates must provide a VSC and TB screening. Training is available; a Food Handlers certification is preferred. We value diversity and inclusivity in our Villages.

Qualifications

• Completion of the Food Services Worker training program is an asset (not required).
• Hold a valid Food Handlers certification.
• Demonstrates a caring and respectful attitude toward residents, families, and team members.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs and maintain safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Serves meals and beverages, following residents’ diets and preferences with safe handling.
• Monitors quality of food supplies and equipment and reports issues.
• Assists in catering preparation and setup for events and meals.
• Maintains a clean and sanitized dining room and workspace.
• Assists with orientation and training of new food service team members.
• Prepares nourishment carts where applicable.
• Performs dishwashing duties where needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

The Village of Erin Meadows has an exciting opportunity for a FSA to join their team.

The hiring rate for this role is $22.88 per collective agreement/employee association agreement.

Successful candidates will be required to provide an acceptable Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) and acceptable Tuberculosis (TB) screening test before starting.

As a new Food Services team member (FSA), you will:

• Serves meals and beverages, following residents’ diets and food preferences while using
  safe and sanitary food handling techniques.
• Monitors the quality of food supplies and equipment received, advising leaders of
  problems.
• Assists in the preparation of catering functions, room setup with necessary food service
  equipment, food and beverages, flatware and dinner ware, as requested
• Sets and maintains a clean and sanitized dining room and workspace.
• Assists with orientation and training of new food service team members.
• Preparation of nourishment carts (where applicable).
• Dishwashing duties (where applicable).
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

• Completion of the Food Services Worker training program is an asset (not required)
