Job description

We are seeking a Journeyman Plumber to join our growing team, offering industry-leading benefits, including RRSP / TFSA contribution matching that exceeds union plans, plus paid vacation. The successful candidate will be responsible for plumbing installations and repairs on tenant improvement (TI) projects, mentoring an apprentice, and ensuring all work meets the highest quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities

1. Perform plumbing installations, maintenance, and repairs on tenant improvement (TI) projects, including waterlines, sanitary and storm systems, condensate drains, vent piping, and fixtures such as sinks, toilets, hot water tanks, and heat pumps.
2. Install and repair piping systems, including but not limited to PVC, PEX, copper, Aquarise, steel, and cast iron.
3. Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and plumbing schematics for accurate execution.
4. Safely and efficiently operate hand and power tools relevant to plumbing applications.
5. Train and mentor an apprentice, providing technical guidance and hands-on instruction.
6. Ensure compliance with BC Plumbing Code and industry standards.
7. Install, test, and maintain backflow prevention devices to meet regulatory requirements.

Skills & Qualifications

1. Proven commercial plumbing experience in TI projects.
2. Strong knowledge of BC Plumbing Code and municipal regulations.
3. Experience with backflow preventers and certification (preferred).
4. Ability to work independently with a strong work ethic.
5. Leadership and mentoring skills are an asset.
