Job Details

Position: Food Service Worker, Patient Food Services, C&W

Location: Vancouver, BC

Type: Temporary, Full-Time

Wage: $24.34 / Hour

Hours: 700-1500 (Wed, Thu, Fri, Sat, Sun)

Closing Date: May 14, 2025

Responsibilities

1. Prepare patient meal items such as tea, coffee, toast, salads, sandwiches, milkshakes, infant formulas, and tube feedings by weighing, measuring, and combining ingredients.
2. Assemble patient meal trays according to menu and portion food accordingly.
3. Load, deliver, collect, and unload meal service wagons.
4. Clean dishes and utensils; store them properly.
5. Prepare items like vegetables and fruits by washing, slicing, dicing, and grating.
6. Handle food storage, labeling, packaging, and rotation.
7. Perform cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing work areas and equipment.
8. Transport food pans, kettles, and trays safely.
9. Store food following safety and rotation protocols.
10. Notify leadership about inventory needs.
11. Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications

• Grade 10 plus one year's recent related experience or equivalent education/training.
• Certificate in Food Safe Level 1.
• Knowledge of Indigenous cultural safety, anti-racism, and systemic impacts on health.
• Understanding of relevant legislative obligations and commitments.
