Compass Group Canada is seeking a Food Service Worker to prepare, present and serve meals with focus on quality and presentation. You will perform prep work, transport items safely, store foods properly and set up daily purchases, while maintaining cleanliness and safety standards.

The role includes serving customers, handling cash where needed, and ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all retail areas. English communication and teamwork are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• FoodSafe Level 1 Certification is required.
• Familiar with the use of a cash register is an asset.
• Strong time management and organizational skills to manage heavy workload.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team setting as required.
• Good command of English language, both verbal and written.

Responsabilités

• Prepare, present and serve meals, ensuring quality and presentation.
• Perform prep work: wash, peel, cut, and seed fruits and vegetables.
• Carry pots, pans, and trays safely between stations and storage areas.
• Store food with proper dating and rotation; follow safety procedures.
• Set up items for daily purchase and ensure proper shelving.
• Clean work areas and dispose of waste according to standards.
• Distribute supplies and portable equipment as needed.
• Follow recipes and production standards for quality and portion control.
• Serve customers politely and efficiently; address concerns with supervisor.
• Ensure sanitation and safety compliance in all areas of service.

The hourly wage is $18.00. Final compensation will be determined based on relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity. Prepares, presents and serves meals, ensuring the quality of the food and overall presentation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform prep work such as washing, peeling, cutting and seeding fruits and vegetables.
• Carry pans, kettles and trays of food to and from work stations, stove and refrigerator in accordance with safety standards.
• Store food in designated areas following wrapping, dating, food safety and rotation procedures.
• Set up items for purchase on daily basis.
• Perform general cleaning duties; remove trash and garbage to designated areas.
• Distribute supplies, utensils and portable equipment.
• Utilize approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures and standard portion control. Notify cooks if food temperatures are not within acceptable limits.
• Serve customers in a friendly, efficient manner following outlined steps of service.
• Resolve customer concerns and relays relevant information to supervisor.
• Assure compliance with all sanitation and safety requirements.
• Provide service in all retail areas, including cashiering and line serving.
