About the Opportunity

The Nutrition and Food Services, Food Service Worker, works in patient and retail food service settings. Reporting to the Manager or Food Service Supervisor, responsibilities include preparing and serving meals, cleaning, sanitizing, and supporting safe food handling procedures. The role involves performing key activities across the site.

Key Work Activities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Patient Meal Selections (Customer Service): Answering phone calls, entering meal selections on computers or tablets.
• Food Preparation and Service: Assembling, portioning, and serving meals; preparing nourishments and special feedings; salad and sandwich prep.
• Delivery and Collection: Distributing meals and supplies; collecting soiled trays.
• Food Handling: Receiving and storing supplies, interpreting patient diet orders, managing inventory.
• Menu Duties: Generating menus, reports, labels, and verifying reports.
• Food Safety and Sanitation: Cleaning, sanitizing, maintaining hygiene, and preventing cross-contamination.

About You

Applicants must demonstrate:

• Grade 12/GED or equivalent, or relevant experience (must be stated in application).
• Competency in English and basic Math.
• Experience in restaurants or customer service is an asset.
• Ability to work in a team, meet standards, communicate effectively, and demonstrate civility and respect.
• Knowledge of other languages, especially French, is an asset.
• Physical demands include standing, walking, bending, lifting (up to 40 lbs), and transporting equipment.

For Pot Room roles, additional requirements include safety footwear reimbursement, heavy lifting, and working independently.
