Job Description

Do you love food? Are you passionate about making someone's day? We are seeking a Food Service Worker to join the team at Brigadoon Village in Alyesford, NS.

Brigadoon Village is a non-profit recreational facility that delivers year-round camp programming to transform the lives of Atlantic Canadian children and youth living with health conditions and other challenges. We help them reach their full potential through experiential learning, meaningful connections, and fun.

This is a casual position with full-time hours in Spring and Summer. During winter, it will be on-call, returning to full-time in Spring and Summer. The starting wage is $17.00 per hour.

Job Responsibilities

• Deliver an exceptional experience for campers and staff at Camp Brigadoon
• Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
• Serve food according to meal schedules and policies
• Ensure proper storage of food in a sanitary manner
• Use and care of kitchen equipment
• Maintain a clean working area
• Follow all food safety regulations
• Clean and sanitize counters, equipment, and steam tables
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Food service experience is an asset
• Intermediate understanding of English
• Kind, courteous, hospitality-focused attitude
• Physical demands may include lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, standing, and walking. Uniforms and PPE may be required.
