CHEO is seeking a part-time Food Services Supervisor to oversee production, presentation, cleanliness and customer relations in our on-site Ottawa kitchen. This role also involves budgeting input and managing department staff performance.

Qualified candidates will hold a Diploma in Food Services & Nutrition Management, possess a Criminal Record Check, and have about two years of experience, with strong communication skills and a working knowledge of health and safety legislation.

Qualifications

  • Criminal Record Check is essential.
  • Approximately 2 years of experience in food services.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Staff supervision experience.
  • Knowledge of applicable health and safety legislation.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise production of food including cooking, presentation, cleanliness and customer relations.
  • Manage staff scheduling and performance; provide guidance and feedback.
  • Assist with budgeting and cost controls within the department.

The Food Services Supervisor is also responsible for recommending and implementing budgets, and for managing the human resources of the department including hiring, termination and managing the performance of staff as necessary.**QUALIFICATIONS*** Criminal Record Check (Essential)* Diploma in Food Services & Nutrition Management (Essential)* Member of the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management (Essential)* Approximately 2 years of experience (Essential)* Comprehensively use computer technology (Essential)* Take steps to ensure timely completion of tasks by adjusting priorities as required (Essential)* Communicate effectively and concisely, both orally and in writing (Essential)* Deal effectively with internal and external customers (Essential)* Provides staff supervision (Essential)* Working knowledge of applicable occupational health and safety legislation; general knowledge of corporate/departmental policies and procedures related to health and safety.
