Job Title: Food Service Supervisor

Join our team at Extendicare as a Food Service Supervisor in Ottawa, Ontario. This full-time position involves working 75 hours bi-weekly in our 256-bed long-term care facility.

Job Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and deliver high-quality dietary services for residents.
• Apply continuous quality improvement principles to workflow, performance, and service changes to meet legislative requirements.
• Select, supervise, and motivate dietary staff; promote teamwork and productivity.
• Ensure all food preparation and storage areas meet Public Health standards.
• Maintain records per policies, procedures, and legislative requirements, including menus.
• Coordinate with residents, families, officials, and professionals regarding care and department activities.
• Participate in budgeting; manage departmental budget and food costs.

Qualifications

• Current membership in the Canadian Society of Nutritional Management (C.S.N.M.) or a Registered Dietitian credential.
• Post-secondary education in Food Services and Nutrition Management.
• At least 2 years of dietary management experience in long-term care.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Experience managing unionized staff and knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety legislation.
