Your Opportunity:
Alberta Health Services (AHS) is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented individual for the position of Food Services II at the Royal Alexandra Hospital. This casual role involves high-quality work and food safety standards, focusing on preparing and managing infant feeding formulas and human milk, adhering to all relevant food safety regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare complex infant feeding recipes, label, monitor, receive, and deliver specialized formulas and human milk.
- Perform inventory management and operate feeding preparation equipment.
- Maintain sanitation and complete temperature/sanitization records.
- Participate in training, compliance, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Communicate effectively through various telecommunication modes and electronic charting systems.
- Participate in new hire orientation and other duties as assigned.
Additional Duties:
Perform routine food preparation tasks such as packaging, portioning, serving, and cleaning in accordance with AHS standards. May include ingredient/inventory controls and customer service support.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Safe food handling certification from an accredited program.
- Computer skills suitable for food service programs.
Additional Qualifications:
- Experience in healthcare, especially related to human milk and infant feeding products.
- Knowledge of formula types, preparation methods, and nutritional content.
- Ability to accurately measure, prepare formulas, label, and maintain records.
- Knowledge of weights, measures, and recipe conversions.
- Problem-solving skills related to product preparation and storage.
- Adherence to HACCP, Infection Prevention Control, and sanitation standards.
- Organizational skills for inventory management and task prioritization.
- Ability to work under pressure and communicate effectively.
- Physical ability to lift up to 46 pounds frequently and push/pull up to 250 pounds.
- Food Safety Alberta Certificate required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Formula/Human Milk Technician Certificate (preferred).
- Canadian Society of Nutrition Management (preferred).
- WHMIS training (preferred).
- Knowledge of Epic and experience with Formula Calculator (preferred).
