Job summary

Aramark Canada is seeking an experienced Food Service Director to oversee a portfolio of support service operations within a healthcare and long-term care environment in the Burnaby region. Reporting to the General Manager, this leadership role is responsible for the overall delivery of essential support services, including Food Services, Environmental Services (Housekeeping), Laundry, and Maintenance.

Qualifications

  • Degree or Diploma in Food & Nutrition Management, Hospitality Management, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
  • CSNM membership is required.
  • 5+ years of progressive leadership experience managing support service operations, preferably in healthcare, seniors living, or long-term care environments.
  • Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and operational accountability.
  • Experience leading unionized teams is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of food service operations, housekeeping/environmental services, laundry, and facility support functions.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and workforce management systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams in a fast-paced, service-focused environment.
  • Successful completion of a background check will be required.

  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with healthcare stakeholders, clients, residents, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Lead, coach, and develop supervisors and frontline employees to drive engagement, accountability, and performance.
  • Manage departmental budgets, financial forecasting, inventory controls, and operational reporting.
  • Oversee menu planning, production processes, procurement, and food service quality standards.
  • Support workforce planning, scheduling, payroll administration, and unionized workforce practices.
  • Monitor operational performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement and service enhancements.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, workplace safety, and organizational policies.
  • Foster a collaborative and resident-focused culture across all support service functions.

The pay range for this position is $60,471.00 - $76,385.00.
