Oak View Group is hiring a Food Runner for a part-time position in Windsor, Ontario. The role supports servers by delivering food and drinks, bussing and cleaning tables, and assisting in maintaining a clean dining area.

Candidates should have restaurant or food service experience, the ability to stand for long periods, and strong communication skills to ensure accurate orders and excellent guest service.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in a restaurant or food service setting is preferred.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, lift and carry food trays or plates, and navigate outdoor spaces comfortably.

Responsibilities

• Food and Beverage Support: Collect prepared food items from the kitchen and ensure their safe transportation to seating areas.
• Deliver food promptly to customers while it is still fresh and hot, ensuring that they receive their orders in a timely manner.
• Assist picking up drink orders at the bar and delivering them to the guest.
• Table Preparation And Resetting: Set up tables with clean utensils and condiments before guests arrive.
• Clear and reset tables promptly after customers have finished dining.
• Ensure tables are properly arranged and presentable for the next guests.
• Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization in the outdoor dining area, clearing empty plates, utensils, and other waste from tables when necessary.
• Collaborate with the kitchen staff, servers, bartenders, and other restaurant personnel to ensure smooth and coordinated service.
• Dining Area Maintenance: Regularly check and clean dining tables, chairs, and surrounding areas to maintain cleanliness and a neat appearance.
• Empty and clean garbage cans before, during, and after each shift.
• Wipe down tables and clean debris around the dining area and sitting guests.
• Assist with general cleaning tasks as needed, including restocking supplies and cleaning glassware and the bar.
• Collect all recyclable garbage disposables and place them in assigned garbage.
• Assist in maintaining an adequate supply of disposable plates, containers, and utensils.

Position Summary

The Food Runner position is a crucial member of the restaurant's service team, responsible for assisting the servers at all times, delivering food and drink orders to customers seated, and bussing and cleaning tables as guests finish eating. Working closely with the servers and kitchen staff, the Busser plays a key supporting role in ensuring a positive dining experience for customers.

This role pays an hourly rate of $18.00 - $19.00 CAD and is tip eligible.
