Responsibilities

• Serve customers at counters or buffet tables and take their orders
• Prepare, heat, and finish simple food items
• Package take-out food and portion and wrap items
• Operate dishwashers and sanitize dishes, glassware, and flatware by hand
• Clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces, appliances, cupboards, and storage areas
• Stock refrigerators, salad bars, and replenish condiments and supplies
• Receive, unpack, and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, and cupboards
• Wash, peel, and cut vegetables and fruit
• Remove kitchen garbage and trash; sweep, mop, wash, and polish floors
• Keep records of food quantities used
• Load buspans and trays; clear and clean tables, trays, and chairs
• Scour pots and pans; sharpen kitchen knives
• Handle and store cleaning products
