Job summary

Gateway Casinos & Entertainment Limited is seeking a Front-of-House Operations Leader to manage daily Food & Beverage functions at our Woodstock location. You will lead a motivated team to deliver exceptional service and dining experiences, while coordinating with marketing and other departments.

The role requires strong leadership, effective communication, and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced casino environment, with flexible hours including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day Food & Beverage operations with strong leadership and accountability
  • Build and maintain a positive team environment and address performance concerns
  • Coach, mentor and develop employees with clear expectations and standards
  • Manage staffing levels, scheduling, and labor deployment to support business needs
  • Participate in recruitment, onboarding, and training of F&B team members
  • Drive F&B revenue and profitability by identifying opportunities to improve sales, service and offerings
  • Collaborate with Marketing to implement initiatives that boost guest engagement and revenue
  • Develop creative F&B offerings aligned with events and promotions
  • Monitor costs and ensure budget adherence across operations
  • Maintain high standards of food quality, service, and guest experience
  • Coordinate operations for special events and promotions
  • Stay updated on company policies and regulatory requirements

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the day-to-day Food & Beverage operations providing strong leadership, direction, and accountability to the team
  • Build and maintain a positive, respectful, and productive team environment while effectively managing challenging employee situations and addressing performance or conduct concerns
  • Coach, mentor, and develop employees while setting clear expectations and holding team members accountable for performance, service standards, and company policies
  • Manage staffing levels, scheduling, labour deployment, and operational resources to effectively support business needs
  • Participate in recruitment, onboarding, training, performance management, and ongoing development of Food & Beverage team members
  • Take an active role in driving Food & Beverage revenue and profitability by identifying opportunities to improve sales, service, menu offerings, promotions, and overall operational performance
  • Work closely with the Marketing team to develop and execute Food & Beverage initiatives that complement casino gaming promotions, drive visitation, increase guest engagement, and generate incremental revenue
  • Develop creative food and beverage offerings that support gaming events, promotions, tournaments, entertainment, and other casino initiatives
  • Monitor and manage key Food & Beverage operating costs, including labour, food cost, waste, and inventory, and take appropriate action to achieve budget expectations
  • Contribute to menu development and ensure food and beverage offerings are aligned with guest expectations, current trends, promotional opportunities, and business objectives
  • Maintain high standards for food quality, presentation, service, cleanliness and overall guest experience
  • Work collaboratively with the General Manager, Marketing team, and other departments to identify opportunities to improve the overall guest experience and casino performance
  • Monitor guest feedback and proactively address concerns, using feedback to identify opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, Responsible Gaming requirements, health and safety standards, and applicable regulatory requirements
  • Coordinate Food & Beverage operations for special events, promotions, and other casino initiatives
  • Maintain current knowledge of company policies, procedures, products, promotions, and Food & Beverage best practices
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required to support the successful operation of the casino.
What You Bring
  • 1 to 2 years experience in restaurant or Food & Beverage supervision, leadership, or management , or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong leadership and people-management skills, with the ability to effectively lead a diverse team, manage challenging employee situations, resolve conflict, and maintain accountability
  • The confident and communication skills to have difficult conversations, provide constructive feedback, and address performance or conduct issues in a professional and respectful manner
  • A demonstrated ability to build trust and credibility with employees while maintaining appropriate leadership boundaries and expectations
  • A collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively with Marketing and other departments to develop and execute initiatives that support gaming promotions and overall casino objectives
  • A results-oriented approach with an understanding of sales, labour management, food costs, revenue generation, and overall Food & Beverage profitability
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to consistently exceed guest expectations
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize and maange multiple operational demands in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees, guests, management, and cross-functional teams
  • Ability to work independently, make sound operational decisions, and take ownership of results
  • Ability to obtain registration with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO)
  • Smart Serve certification or the ability to obtain certification
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule, including events, weekends, and holidays as required
