Job summary

The Lodge at Arrow Lakes, CMH Heli-Skiing & Summer Adventures, is seeking a Food & Beverage Manager to support the Hotel Manager in day-to-day lodge operations, leading front-of-house service and culinary teams.

You will oversee inventory, cost controls, menu development, liquor compliance and BC food safety standards, and act as Duty Manager when needed.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in hospitality, travel and tourism or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in the Food & Beverage industry.
  • Food Safe Certificate and BC Serving It Right.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with management to achieve F&B KPIs and financial targets.
  • Provide direction, performance feedback and coaching to develop the team.
  • Act as a key contact for F&B operations and coordinate with Hotel Manager.
  • Ensure F&B service standards align with brand expectations.
  • Oversee inventory management, ordering processes and cost controls.
  • Support menu development, product costing and F&B program execution.
  • Maintain liquor licences and compliance with liquor laws.
  • Ensure BC food safety regulations and standards are followed.
  • Act as Duty Manager in the absence of the Hotel Manager.

Position Overview

The Food & Beverage Manager supports the Hotel Manager in the day to day operation of the lodge, with primary responsibility for the Food & Beverage program including front of house service and culinary. This role provides leadership and oversight to ensure the department operates efficiently, delivers exceptional guest experiences and contributes meaningfully to overall financial performance.

The position requires a balance of hands on operational leadership and administrative oversight, including team supervision, problem solving and continuous improvement of service standards.

Along with a year-round hotel, pub and dining room, The Lodge at Arrow Lakes is also host to the CMH Kootenay Heli-Skiing operation during winter months. To learn more about The Lodge at Arrow Lakes, please visit the website: The Lodge at Arrow Lakes

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the management team to achieve Food & Beverage key performance indicators and financial targets.
  • Support the Hotel Manager in providing direction, performance feedback and ongoing coaching to develop and lead the team.
  • Act as a key point of contact for F&B operations, supporting the Hotel Manager in departmental coordination.
  • Ensure F&B service standards are consistently delivered and aligned with brand expectations.
  • Oversee inventory management, ordering processes and cost controls within F&B operations.
  • Support menu development, product costing and overall F&B program execution.
  • Maintain all liquor licences and service compliance with liquor laws.
  • Ensure full compliance with all BC food safety regulations and standards.
  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of all hotel roles to support operational effectiveness and team alignment.
  • Partner with the Hotel Manager to uphold company policies related to Occupational Health & Safety, including WorkSafe BC and WHMIS compliance.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of sustainability initiatives across operations.
  • Act as Duty Manager in the absence of Hotel Manager.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education in hospitality, travel and tourism or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in the Food & Beverage industry.
  • Food Safe Certificate.
  • BC Serving It Right.

Working Conditions
  • Able to lift, carry, or otherwise move and position up to 30 pounds on an occasional basis.
  • This position will be required to work evenings, weekends and holidays based on the needs of the business, seasonal workloads, and hotel/restaurant bookings.
  • This position is based out of a quaint, fairly remote town in the West Kootenay region of BC. The successful candidate must have a passion for small-town living and working in an industry that is seasonally driven by tourism.

Compensation
