Job summary

Paqtnkek Mi’kmaw Nation is seeking a compassionate, organized Food Bank Manager to oversee the Community Food Bank on a part-time basis (20 hours per week). Responsibilities

• Coordinate the operation of the Community Food Bank during scheduled operating weeks.
• Work closely with the Social Case Management team to identify and support individuals and families experiencing food insecurity.
• Collaborate with the Community Dietitian to promote healthy food choices and nutrition education.
• Coordinate, schedule, and support Food Bank staff and volunteers.
• Maintain inventory of food and supplies, including receiving, organizing, and distributing donations.
• Ensure food is stored, handled, and distributed in accordance with food safety standards.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with community partners, donors, and food suppliers.
• Maintain accurate records, inventory reports, and program statistics.
• Assist with food drives, fundraising initiatives, and community outreach activities including seasonal greenhouse and community harvesting oversight.
• Support seasonal food security planning by ensuring that year-round food needs are addressed.
• Ensure a welcoming, respectful, and confidential environment for all Food Bank clients.

Paqtnkek Mi'kmaw Nation is seeking a compassionate, organized, and community-focused individual to fill the position of Food Bank Manager. Reporting to the Director of Healing, this part-time position (20 hours per week) is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day operations of the Community Food Bank while working collaboratively with internal staff and community partners to support the health and well-being of community members.
