Job summary

Scarlet Security & Risk Group (SSRG) is seeking professional Security Guards for a remote mining operation in Northwest British Columbia. Responsibilities include access control, patrols, incident reporting, emergency response, and security of the mine area.

The role requires BC security license, valid driver’s license, first aid and the ability to pass drug/alcohol and background checks; shifts include day and night, indoors or outdoors, with meals and accommodations provided.

Qualifications

• Valid British Columbia Security License.
• Valid FULL Class 5 Driver's Licence with acceptable driving record.
• First Aid with CPR/AED (or willingness to obtain).
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
• Willingness to work day and night shifts indoors or outdoors.
• Pass Drug and Alcohol Test (SSRG will arrange).
• Criminal record check and credit check required.
• Able to lift 50 lbs.
• Able to stand and walk for extended periods and stairs.
• Able to work in cold and hot weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining excellent customer service to guests, colleagues, and site workers.
• Access control/intrusion detection at site.
• Monitoring site activities and providing detailed incident reports.
• Mobile and foot patrols of assigned areas, including perimeter checks.
• Conducting searches and checks of persons, bags and vehicles.
• Emergency response dispatch and intra-team radio communication.
• Breath tests for alcohol and drug testing as required.
• De-escalating and controlling potentially violent encounters.
• Monitoring vehicle movements and enforcing speed limits.
• Providing first response in emergencies.
• Recording daily activities and issuing security badges.
• Monitoring access control, intrusion detection and video surveillance.

We are seeking professional Security Guards to join our team at a remote mining operation in Northwest British Columbia.

Successful applicants will provide security services to a remote mining site including, but not limited to, ensuring adherence to site rules, site access, vehicle searches, foot and mobile patrolling, lodge security, assistance with emergency response, and security of the mine area.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining excellent customer service to guests, colleagues, and site workers
• Access control/intrusion detection at site
• Monitoring site activities, detecting suspicious occurrences and providing detailed written incident reports
• Mobile and foot patrols of assigned areas, including perimeter checks
• Conducting person, bag, and vehicle searches and checks
• Emergency response dispatch and intra-team communication via radio
• Performing breath tests for alcohol and conducting drug and illegal substance testing as required
• Responding to, de-escalating, and controlling potentially violent encounters
• Monitoring and controlling vehicle movement within the site, including enforcing speed restrictions
• Providing first response in emergencies
• Recording daily activities, completing access and administrative forms, and issuing or checking security badges
• Monitoring access control, intrusion detection and video surveillance systems

Requirements

• Valid British Columbia Security License
• Valid FULL Class 5 Drivers Licence and acceptable Driver's Abstract
• Valid Standard First Aid with CPR/AED (or willingness to obtain)
• Exceptional written and spoken English communication skills
• Willingness to work both day and night shifts, indoors or outdoors as required
• Must be able to pass Drug and Alcohol Test (SSRG will arrange)
• Must be able to pass criminal record check and credit checkMust be able to lift 50 lbs
• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time, including many stairs
• Must be able to work in cold and hot weather conditions

Additional Information

• Full uniform and PPE provided (boot allowance included)
• 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off rotation
• 12-hour shifts
• Travel to and from site provided from marshalling points located in Vancouver, Calgary, Kelowna and Smithers.
