Job summary

SkyCan Systems is seeking a senior software/firmware leader to define the architecture for flight controllers, navigation systems, and ground control software. The role includes leading and mentoring firmware, perception, and GCS engineers, and owning software requirements traceability and verification.

You will drive the software program schedule, coordinate with R&D heads, and ensure DO-178C and MISRA compliance across the flight software stack.

Qualifications

• Engineering seniority with leadership experience in embedded software/firmware.
• Experience in safety-critical development and DO-178C objectives (asset).
• Familiarity with MISRA coding standards.

Responsibilities

• Define software/firmware architecture for flight controller, navigation, and GCS.
• Lead, hire, and mentor firmware, perception, navigation, and GCS engineers; manage software program schedule.
• Own software ICDs and traceability from requirements through design, implementation, and verification.

Education

MASc or BASc in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace, Robotics, or Mechatronics
