Job summary

AXISCADES is seeking experienced Human Factors/Ergonomics professionals to support aerospace flight deck design and evaluation in Montreal and Wichita. You will work on flight deck interfaces, combining HF, ergonomics, engineering and pilot/user experience.

Ideal candidates bring aerospace experience, strong HF expertise, and the ability to apply HF directly to aviation. English is required; French is an asset. Hybrid work model with on-site collaboration at both locations.

Qualifications

  • 4–15+ years of relevant experience depending on level.
  • Strong practical experience in Human Factors/Ergonomics.
  • Aerospace/aviation experience, preferably with flight decks or cockpits.
  • Understanding of aircraft systems, avionics and/or flight operations.
  • Experience considering the pilot/user perspective in engineering solutions.
  • Industrial experience with hands-on HF applications.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to flight deck Human Factors and User-Centered Design activities.
  • Perform physical and/or cognitive ergonomics analysis and evaluation.
  • Assist cockpit geometry, interfaces, components and control placement planning.
  • Support 3D modeling, simulation, rig testing and product evaluation.
  • Contribute to flight deck HMI design, workflow and usability analysis.
  • Develop requirements, task analyses and human error analyses.
  • Prototype and run scenario-based flight deck/UX evaluations.
  • Engage with flight crews to assess usability and safety considerations.
  • Support certification and compliance activities related to Human Factors.
  • Collaborate with engineering, avionics and manufacturing teams.
