Job summary

Qualicare Homecare in Ottawa is looking for compassionate Personal Support Workers (PSWs) to join our home care team. The role involves assisting clients with personal care under the supervision of the Care Coordinator, delivering essential daily support to improve quality of life.

Ideal candidates hold a PSW certificate or equivalent, with CPR/First Aid certification and the ability to travel within the territory. The position supports flexible shifts and ongoing client relationships.

Qualifications

• PSW Certificate or equivalent required or being a foreign-trained nurse or nursing student considered.
• CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain it is expected.
• Negative TB skin test or chest x-ray is required.
• Ability to travel around the location territory.
• Access to Internet and a mobile phone required.

Responsibilities

• Assistance with personal care and hygiene.
• Meal preparation.
• Light housekeeping.
• Accompany clients on outings.
• Shopping and errands.
• Medication assistance/reminders.
• Ambulation and transporting of clients.
• Provide companionship to clients.
• Ability to follow care plans.
• Documentation/Charting of care delivered.
