Job summary

Norfolk County, located in Southwestern Ontario, is hiring a Weigh Scale Attendant to support its waste management facilities. You will weigh vehicles, collect payments, and maintain accurate waste stream records while delivering front-line customer service.

This permanent part-time role requires a Grade 12 diploma, local driving license, and ability to work a flexible schedule at Simcoe and South Walsingham transfer stations; wage band is $24.27–$30.31 per hour.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 diploma or equivalent required.
• Six months of related experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills and data entry ability.

Responsibilities

• Open, close and ensure security of the waste management facility.
• Weigh vehicular traffic entering and leaving facility per policies.
• Monitor and process waste stream data according to policies and acts.
• Provide customer service to the public at facilities.
• Collect cash and credit receipts and complete deposits.
• Enter waste stream data into the data collection system.
• Prepare weigh period transaction files for transmission.
• Respond to inquiries from public, authorities, contractors, site users and staff.
• Perform housekeeping duties at weigh scale facilities.
