Job summary

PLEA Community Services is seeking a Regular Full-Time Clinical Counsellor for our Clinical Counselling team in Maple Ridge, BC. 35 hours weekly with flextime, including days and evenings, and a start date as soon as possible. BCGEU membership is required.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in counselling, counselling psychology, psychology, social work or a related field.
• One of the following designations: RCC, CCC, or RSW designation.
• One year of recent related experience in providing counselling services.

Responsibilities

• Develop strong collaborative relationships with clients, families, and Family Caregivers to encourage active participation in clinical counselling services.
• Identify and assess client's needs with Family Caregivers, agency staff, professionals and care team.
• Develop and implement therapeutic approaches and interventions to support clients in positive behavioural change.
• Participate in the planning process as part of a care team supporting the client.
• Provide conflict-resolution support and strategies for clients as-needed.
• Maintain knowledge of community resources and provide appropriate referrals.
• Provide required reports on clients’ behaviour and progress and maintain clinical records.
• Adhere to ethical principles and standards of practice in counselling.
• Protect and uphold confidentiality.
