Job summary

Independent Grocers Alliance in Magog, Canada, is seeking a friendly cashier to join our store team. The role offers 30–40 hours per week with day and evening shifts, and the chance to contribute to a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

You will punch or scan merchandise, ensure price accuracy, handle cash and payments, and balance the cash register according to policy. Prior cash register or POS experience is preferred, with strong customer service skills.

Qualifications

• Experience with cash register or POS systems.
• Experience in a similar cashier position.
• Ability to handle cash and payments accurately.

Responsibilities

• punch and/or scan merchandise selected by the customer
• ensure accuracy of prices punched/scanned and make cancellations according to established standards
• handle cash and media (debit cards, cheques, etc.) and make deposits according to established policies
• ensure the balance of the cash register and respect the productivity standards (sales/hours, punching/minute)
