Job summary

The Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice in Farnham is seeking a Bank Maintenance Operative to join the Estates team. You will perform planned maintenance, repairs across the hospice and shops, and assist during busy periods.

This flexible, on-site role supports both clinical and retail areas with emphasis on safety and quality of care. This role requires practical skills in carpentry, painting and general building maintenance, plus the ability to work independently or with colleagues.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance or similar role, with safe building maintenance.
• Practical skills in carpentry, painting and DIY.
• Basic understanding of inspection and maintenance of mechanical/electrical services.
• Ability to organise and prioritise work independently or in a team.
• Good written and verbal communication; approachable manner.
• Current, clean UK driving licence with >2 years' driving experience.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned maintenance and day-to-day repairs across the hospice and retail shops.
• Identify and report defects; keep records of completed work.
• Support larger maintenance projects during busy periods and staff holidays.
