Job summary

The Government of Nova Scotia Fleet Services Division is seeking a Mechanic II (Automotive Repair Technician) for Miller Lake. This year-round position supports the provincial road network by diagnosing, repairing and maintaining a range of vehicles.

The successful candidate will hold a High School Diploma or GED with Inter-Provincial Red Seal in Automotive Service, plus five years of experience. A valid NS driver’s license and tools are required; Red Seal in Truck/Transport or Air Conditioning

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with Red Seal in Automotive Service.
• Minimum five years diversified mechanical experience.
• Valid Nova Scotia driver’s license and own mechanic tools.
• Red Seal in Truck and Transport or Air Conditioning cert is an asset.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose equipment failure and perform repairs, rebuilds and adjustments.
• Work on electrical, fuel, powertrain, brakes, steering and HVAC systems.
• Operate with minimal supervision and maintain safety standards.
• Complete probationary NS MVI training and participate in assessments.
