Job summary

Department of Public Works, Government of Nova Scotia, seeks a Mobile Service Mechanic for a 52-week year-round temporary backfill in Noel (Zone 18). You will repair and maintain fleet equipment such as tractors, loaders, graders and tandem trucks, with emphasis on preventative maintenance and safety.

Qualifications include high school, Inter-Provincial Red Seal in Truck and Transport, and at least five years of diversified mechanical experience; a valid Class 5 license is required; air brake

Qualifications

• High school education plus Red Seal in Truck and Transport.
• Minimum of five years of diversified mechanical experience.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license; air brake endorsement assets.

Responsibilities

• Repair, rebuild and adjust fleet equipment including tractors, loaders, graders and trucks.
• Perform preventative maintenance to minimize equipment failures.
• Work safely with PPE and maintain a clean workspace.
• Operate with minimal supervision and communicate issues clearly.
