Island EMS in Charlottetown, PEI, is seeking a casual Fleet Maintenance/Runner to support the Fleet Centre operations. You will maintain ambulances and support units, manage parts and supplies, drive to bases and centers, and ensure vehicles are stocked and clean, following established procedures.

Requirements include Grade 12, valid Class 4 license or willingness to obtain, experience in vehicle maintenance or inventory control, a recent driver's abstract and police record check, WHMIS or

  • Driver's abstract completed within the last 60 days.
  • Criminal record check completed within the last 60 days.

  • First Aid an asset.

Responsabilidades

  • Compile and maintain lists of mechanical parts and supplies.
  • Follow standard operational procedures for inventory and stock management.
  • Drive company vehicles to bases and automotive centres as required.
  • Ensure ambulances and fleet units are stocked and cleaned.
  • Prepare fleet assets for events across the province; secure the ambulance bay daily.

This position is located in the Charlottetown fleet centre. The incumbent is expected to conduct themselves in a safe and prudent manner.The Fleet Maintenance/Runner is responsible to ensure all ambulances and support units are safe, effective, maintained, cleaned and stocked in accordance with policies and procedures as stated by Island EMS.Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe position entails, but is not limited to the following:Compile and maintain lists of all mechanical, medical and cleaning parts and supplies as requiredFollow IEMS standard operational procedures for inventory and stock managementGeneral base and vehicle maintenanceOperate under the Supervisor and Operations Manager to complete and participate in quarterly inspectionsDriving company vehicles to IEMS bases, automotive centres, and other locations where requiredEnsure all ambulances and company vehicles based out of the Fleet centre are stockedOperate all vehicles in accordance with policies of IEMS;Conduct reasonable on-going cleanliness of ambulance bay during scheduled shift and at least once a week clean the center completelyPrepare fleet assets including ambulances, support units and specialized trailer for various events throughout the province;Securing the ambulance bay daily and ensures all units are powered down and secureTake instruction and direction operationally from Fleet Manager and Fleet SupervisorTake direction procedurally from General Manager of PEI OperationsPerform other such similar, comparable or related duties as may be required or assigned.Salary:Casual; $21.00 HourlyQualifications and Requirements:Minimum Grade 12 educationValid class 4 license , or ability and willingness to obtainExperience working within vehicle maintenance or inventory control processing, and/or preventive maintenance programs is an assetGood dexterity, general health, eyesight and physical coordinationDriver's abstract completed within the last 60 daysCriminal record check completed within the last 60 daysEffective oral and written communication skillsExcellent multitasking abilityStrong organizationStrong customer serviceProfessionalismDisplays good decision-making skills and takes initiativeAbility to crouch, stand for long periods, bend and lift upwards of 50lbsWHMIS or willing to obtainFirst Aid an assetAble to report to work in the event of a major incident in accordance with the IEMS MCI PlanSteel toe work shoes are requiredThis position will be available for 12 months, with possible extension. Company uniform is to be worn at all times while on shift. Exposure to low to moderate noise levels. Work includes moderate lifting and working with cleaning supplies and chemicals. Potential exposures to contaminated items. Training will be provided to the successful applicant upon hire.Irregular work schedules possibly shift work and overtime as needed. Service centers can be cluttered, greasy, and dirty at times. The employee will spend various periods of sitting, standing, walking, crouching, lifting, and/or carrying light objects. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Medavie employees may participate in various performance-based incentive programs.
