Job summary

Brock Canada is seeking a dependable Fleet Laborer to support our fleet, yard, and operations teams in our Alberta operations. This hands-on role ensures vehicles, equipment, tools, materials, and work areas are clean, organized, maintained, and ready for use.

As part of the Business Operations department, you will assist with mobilization, loading/unloading, inventory, and basic maintenance, contributing to safe, efficient, project-ready operations on-site.

Qualifications

  • Experience in fleet, yard, warehouse, industrial, construction, or maintenance environments is preferred.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and safe work practices.
  • Mechanical aptitude with ability to use basic hand tools.
  • Ability to perform physical work outdoors in varying weather.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with receiving, loading, unloading, staging, and organizing equipment, tools, materials, and supplies.
  • Prepare fleet and equipment for mobilization and return after demobilization.
  • Clean, inspect, and maintain vehicles, equipment, tools, and storage areas.
  • Identify and report damaged, missing, or unsafe equipment.
  • Support basic maintenance, fueling, lubrication, and repairs as trained.
  • Keep yard, shop, and storage areas clean, organized, and safe.
  • Assist with inventory counts and equipment tracking records.
  • Operate forklifts or telehandlers where trained.

About the Role

We are looking for a dependable and safety-focused Fleet Laborer to support our fleet, yard, and operations teams. This role will help ensure vehicles, equipment, tools, materials, and work areas are clean, organized, maintained, and ready for use.

The Fleet Laborer will work in a hands‑on environment and may support equipment preparation, loading and unloading, general yard maintenance, minor maintenance activities, and project mobilization and demobilization.

What You’ll Do
  • Assist with receiving, loading, unloading, staging, and organizing equipment, tools, materials, and supplies.
  • Help prepare fleet and equipment for project mobilization and return equipment to the yard following demobilization.
  • Complete basic cleaning, inspections, and general upkeep of vehicles, equipment, tools, and storage areas.
  • Identify and report damaged, missing, or unsafe equipment and materials.
  • Support minor maintenance, servicing, fueling, lubrication, and repairs as trained and authorized.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe yard, shop, and storage areas.
  • Assist with inventory counts, equipment tracking, checklists, and related records.
  • Operate forklifts, telehandlers, or other equipment where trained and authorized.
  • Follow work orders, procedures, manufacturer specifications, and direction from the Fleet and Operations teams.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to support safe, efficient, and project-ready operations.
  • Complete other general labor and fleet support duties as required.
What You Bring
  • Previous experience in a fleet, yard, warehouse, industrial, construction, or maintenance environment is an asset.
  • A strong commitment to workplace safety and safe work practices.
  • Mechanical aptitude and the ability to use basic hand tools.
  • Ability to perform physical work, including lifting, carrying, standing, walking, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Good attention to detail and the ability to keep equipment and work areas organized.
  • Ability to follow instructions, work independently, and contribute positively to a team.
  • Reliable attendance and a willingness to support changing operational priorities.
Assets
  • CSTS 2020 and WHMIS.
  • Forklift, telehandler, or other equipment certifications.
  • Experience with equipment inspections, inventory tracking, or maintenance records.
  • Previous experience supporting industrial projects or fleet operations.
