Job summary

The City of Regina is seeking a Journeyperson mechanic to perform maintenance and repair work on a wide range of vehicles, focusing on agricultural and industrial equipment in the Civic Fleet Maintenance shop in Regina, Saskatchewan.

Reporting to the Coordinator, Fleet Maintenance, the ideal candidate holds a Journeyperson certificate and has hands-on experience with hydraulics, diesel engines, brakes, and electrical systems.

Qualifications

• The candidate must hold a Journeyperson certificate in Agricultural Machinery Technician or Heavy Duty with 2+ years of journeyperson experience.
• Strong knowledge of diesel and gasoline engines, fuel, air brakes, hydraulics, cooling and ignition systems.
• Ability to read technical information, use diagnostic equipment, and train apprentices.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, overhaul, and service trucks and equipment.
• Perform diagnostics and repairs on hydraulic, electrical, transmission, and engine systems.
• Supervise and train apprentices and other tradespersons as required.
• Complete required reports and communicate effectively with team members.
