Job summary

Classic Freight Transport in Dartmouth, NS is seeking a professional truck driver with 2–3 years of highway experience to join our fleet. You will plan routes, drive tractor-trailer and flatbed configurations, conduct pre-trip inspections, and ensure cargo safety.

This full-time role requires strong customer service, ability to travel cross-border, and compliance with hours of service, safety standards, and company policies. We offer a comprehensive benefits package and a stable schedule.

Qualifications

• High school graduation certificate required.
• 2 years to less than 3 years of driving experience.
• Proven ability to operate truck fleets and manage cargo safely.

Responsibilities

• Plan or adjust routes to minimize fuel use and emissions.
• Address customer complaints or concerns with professionalism.
• Load and unload goods and operate tractor-trailers/flatbeds.
• Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections.
• Receive and relay information to central dispatch.
• Record cargo information, hours of service, and fuel consumption.
• Tarp and secure cargo for safe transport.

Tasks

• Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS) equipment, or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions
