Job summary

Planet Ford in Ontario, part of Performance Auto Group, seeks an experienced Fixed Operations Manager to lead our Service and Parts teams and drive profitability.

The role requires a post-secondary degree, 3–5 years in automotive service, a valid Ontario driver’s license, and strong leadership, communication, and multitasking skills. Competitive base salary plus monthly bonuses and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Post Secondary Degree/Diploma in Business Administration or a related field.
• 3-5 years experience in the automotive service environment is required.
• Must have a valid Ontario Driver's License and good driving record.
• Automotive Technician’s License is an asset.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills.
• Good communication skills and attention-to-detail.
• Must be able to multitask and work under pressure.
• Strong computer skills and attention to detail.
• Demonstrate effective verbal, listening, and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare an annual operating budget, goals and objectives for each department and monitor performance.
• Direct hiring and training of staff for the Service and Parts Departments.
• Partner with dealership department managers to improve profitability and efficiency.
• Create and foster a positive relationship with customers, and ensure staff are helpful.
• Prioritize customer satisfaction to drive referrals and repeat business.
• Administer warranty claims with customers and understand warranty guidelines.
• Create service and pricing policies for approval by the General Manager.
• Ensure service repairs are performed efficiently and correctly with spot checks.
• Promote service safety and security procedures.
• Uphold company rules and disciplinary actions as needed.
• Comply with applicable laws and regulations (ESA, MVDA, AODA, OHSA).
• Operate in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Here’s what you’ll deliver:

• Prepare an annual operating budget, goals and objectives for each department and monitor the performance of the departments.
• Direct hiring and training of staff for the Service and Parts Departments.

• Make customer satisfaction a priority to ensure referral and repeat business.
• Work directly with customers and warranty clerks to administer warranty claims, and understand and apply warranty guidelines.
• Create dealership service and pricing policies for approval by the General Manager.
• Ensure service repairs are performed efficiently and correctly by conducting spot checks on jobs.
• Promotes service safety and security procedures.
• Uphold all rules and procedures (i.e., support enforcement, including disciplinary action as necessary).
• Work in strict compliance with the Laws of the Province of Ontario and Canada including, but not limited to, the Employment Standards Act (ESA), the Motor Vehicle Dealers Act (MVDA) and the Accessibilities for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).
• Understand and comply with all federal, provincial and local regulations that affect service operations, such as the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), waste disposal regulations, etc.
• Comply with all company policies, standards and procedures.
• Other duties as required by management.

Job Type: Full Time - Permanent

Compensation (expected annual compensation): $110,000 - $160,000 per year (base salary plus monthly performance-based bonuses). This range includes a fixed base salary and eligibility for monthly bonuses tied to individual results and/or department performance, which may be influenced by business volumes. Actual bonus earnings vary based on performance.
