Job summary

The Township of Langley is recruiting up to ten Fitness Instructors to join the Recreation, Arts and Culture Division, Recreation Programs and Services Department. Reporting to the Community Recreation Manager, this unionized role involves instructing diverse recreation and aquatic fitness programs for participants of various ages, abilities and interests.

Required certifications include Basic First Aid, CPR C/ AED, RI levels and BCRPA registrations; compensation ranges from $30.57 to $40.37 per

Qualifications

• Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent, combined with related experience in programs and activities
• Sound knowledge of recreation programs, practices, and objectives
• Ability to organize, lead and participate in recreation programs and activities
• Ability to establish and maintain effective communication with participants, recreation staff and volunteers
• Additional certifications are considered an asset

Job Overview

The Township of Langley is currently recruiting for up to ten Fitness Instructors to join our team of professionals in the Recreation, Arts and Culture Division, Recreation Programs and Services Department. Reporting to the Community Recreation Manager, in this unionized position you will apply your advanced knowledge, enthusiasm and expertise to instruct a variety of Recreation and Aquatic Fitness programs for participants of various ages, abilities and interests. This position will appeal to applicants who have strong leadership and communication skills and are committed to excellence in customer service.

This position is defined by the Township of Langley as a position of trust (Child Safety). Position Title andRate of Pay:

• Recreation Instructor 1 (RI 1) $30.57 - $34.25 (4 steps, 2026 rates) plus 14% in lieu of benefits
• Recreation Instructor 2 (RI 2) - $33.03 – $36.69 (4 steps, 2026rates) plus 14% in lieu of benefits
• Recreation Instructor 3 (RI 3) -$34.25 - $37.92(4 steps, 2026rates) plus 14% in lieu of benefits
• Recreation Instructor 4 (RI 4) - $35.47 - $39.14 (4 steps, 2026rates) plus 14% in lieu of benefits
• Recreation Instructor 5 (RI 5) - $36.69 – $40.37 (4 steps, 2026rates) plus 14% in lieu of benefits
